Principal's Message
Dear Ynez families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. This year, school will begin on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025. I hope you had a wonderful summer and opportunities to spend time with your favorite people and activities. We look forward to greeting our students and families back to school recharged and excited for the school year.
Congratulations to our Ynez Eagles for once again being voted as one of San Gabriel Valley’s favorite elementary school, middle school, music school, preschool and workplace. We wholeheartedly believe that a strong community thrives when we lift each other up. We will continue to take steps towards our vision of inspiring students who are dedicated to academic excellence and social responsibility for the benefit of the global community. Please visit our website for more information about our mission and vision, and updated information about our school.
We highly value our family partnerships who are integral to school and student success. I invite you to communicate with our staff and administrators, attend school meetings/events, and connect with us to give us your input. Together we can build positive learning experiences for our students. Throughout the year, we conduct surveys such as the California Healthy Kids Survey, the Title 1 Year End Survey, or the Community School’s survey. Your participation is important to ensure that we address the changing needs of our school.
This year, Ynez students will continue to receive a free breakfast and lunch under the Universal Meals Mandate. We encourage all families to fill out the Alternative Income Form to assist Ynez School with funding. Every form makes a difference! Here is the link, it is also on your PowerSchool Family Portal. Student homeroom announcements will be accessible through the parent portal on August 11th at https://family.ausd.us. Due to enrollment changes, homeroom assignments are subject to change. Your child’s teacher will send you a list of suggested supplies after school begins.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and look forward to seeing you and your child on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, which will also be a minimum day.
Warm Regards,
Janice Phan Ed.D
